Beginning her musical journey at the young age of 9, Bella was already dead set on the path of music and writing. After a strange chain of events that lead her to be the main singer of a musical in elementary school, she has not stopped singing since.
Moving constantly, the only consistency she had was the music. She gradually picked up interests in various instruments. Her main instruments being guitar, bass, keys, and drums. At the age of 17, she produced and wrote the song ’Saved,’ after purchasing her first interface from her first job as a barista trainee, rereleasing the song in 2024 when she realized that using a hammer, pillow, and her dad’s keys to the make the drums wasn’t going to cut it anymore.
The Buffalo, NY raised artist, values the art of telling stories. Her lyrics, often taking the part of narrator or in the place of someone else. She challenges herself to make stories, not of her own experience––but from her dreams. She pulls most of her work from her dreams, worlds she has not lived. However, some of her songs are mere reflections of her own experience, but molded into something whimsical and satirical. Her music and her style is entirely of her own creation and is ever-shifting based on her mood. Bellbottoms, ruffles, thrifted corsets, and platforms. She can be a witch one moment, an astronaut the next, or a lady of Versailles. No matter what she decides to pull out her wardrobe, her energy remains undeniably hers.
Bella started making waves when she began posting her music online, earning nods from artists like Juliette Lewis, The Black Keys, Fantastic Negrito, Peaches, and more. Her song, ‘SelfCare,’ a song that was released during the first wave of COVID, began to go viral on TikTok––along with her social media accounts. However, no one really put two and two together. They seen Bella Moulden and the song as separate entities. Bella made the song on the loopstation and doubleneck in one take. She considers this song to be her most simplistic song to date and is contemplating revisiting the demo to change it to Rock, given this is the only song considered R&B in her discography. She’s never been one to think about fitting in a box when she produces songs, it has always been based on feeling.
Late nights of soldering guitar wires and recording riffs paid off when she headed overseas to Europe in 2025. After playing in Sweden, Denmark, France, and the UK, her journey is just beginning. Working on new music, we can conclude that the best is yet to come.
